Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Power BI Developer with strong hands-on expertise in developing enterprise-grade reports, dashboards, semantic models, and advanced analytics solutions. The ideal candidate should have excellent technical and analytical skills, good communication, and the ability to independently manage BI solutions from requirement gathering through deployment and production support.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Power BI reports and interactive dashboards to support business decision-making.

Develop optimized semantic models using dimensional modeling techniques, including star schemas, fact and dimension tables, and appropriate relationships.

Create advanced DAX measures and calculated columns for KPIs, time intelligence, financial calculations, trend analysis, and complex business requirements.

Build efficient data transformation solutions using Power Query (M), following reusable and maintainable development practices.

Integrate data from multiple sources, including SQL Server, Oracle, Azure SQL, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Excel, APIs, and cloud platforms.

Implement appropriate connectivity modes, including Import, DirectQuery, composite models, and Direct Lake, based on performance and architectural requirements.

Develop and maintain Power BI Paginated Reports for operational reporting, customer statements, invoices, and pixel-perfect PDF or print-oriented reports.

Implement data security using Row-Level Security (RLS) and Object-Level Security (OLS).

Optimize report, DAX, and semantic model performance using Performance Analyzer, DAX Studio, query optimization, aggregation strategies, and model tuning.

Design scalable data models and reporting architectures to support large datasets, incremental refresh, reusable semantic models, and enterprise analytics workloads.

Manage Power BI content across development, testing/UAT, and production environments using controlled deployment and release-management practices.

Configure and maintain Power BI Service features, including workspaces, apps, gateways, refresh schedules, subscriptions, permissions, and deployment pipelines.

Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, architects, product owners, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Conduct code and design reviews, maintain documentation, troubleshoot issues, validate data, reconcile source-to-report outputs, and provide production support.

Take ownership of BI solutions throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring quality, reliability, and timely delivery.

Stay up to date with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, DAX, data modeling, visualization, and modern BI engineering practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

7-10 years of relevant hands-on experience in Power BI development and business intelligence.

Strong expertise in Power BI reports, dashboards, and data visualization.

Advanced proficiency in DAX, including complex measures, calculated columns, and time intelligence.

Strong knowledge of Power Query (M) and data transformation.

Expertise in dimensional data modeling, star schemas, fact/dimension tables, relationships, and semantic models.

Experience with Power BI Service, workspace management, gateways, scheduled refresh, and deployment pipelines.

Strong understanding of RLS, OLS, and enterprise reporting security.

Hands-on experience with performance tuning using DAX Studio, Performance Analyzer, and query optimization techniques.

Experience developing Power BI Paginated Reports.

Strong SQL skills and experience working with multiple enterprise data sources.

Understanding of Import, DirectQuery, composite models, incremental refresh, and large-scale datasets.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Ability to work independently, demonstrate ownership, and manage deliverables with minimal supervision.
