Senior Power BI Developer

Responsibilities include:

• Design and develop end-to-end Power BI solutions including reports, dashboards, and visualizations that align with client business objectives
• Integrate data from diverse sources (SQL databases, Excel, SharePoint, web services) to create comprehensive data models
• Write complex DAX queries and implement advanced data transformations using Power Query
• Create and optimize data models following dimensional modeling best practices for maximum performance
• Implement row-level security and manage workspace access for enterprise-grade solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Mentor junior BI developers and conduct knowledge transfer sessions
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for all Power BI implementations
• Troubleshoot performance issues and implement optimization techniques
• Stay current with Power BI updates and new features to continuously improve deliverables
• Implement Power BI embedded analytics for client applications as needed
• Present findings and technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Primary Skills :

• 5-8 years of hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service
• Strong proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and M Query language
• Advanced skills in data modeling and star schema design principles
• Expert-level SQL knowledge for data extraction and transformation
• Experience with Power BI Administration Portal and tenant management
• Proficiency in developing complex calculated measures and calculated columns
• Experience implementing row-level security in enterprise environments
• Skills in designing clear and effective data visualizations
• Experience with Power BI dataflows and datasets
• Knowledge of Power BI REST APIs for automation and integration

Secondary Skills :

• Experience with Azure data services (Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse)
• Knowledge of Python or R for advanced analytics integration
• Experience with SharePoint integration for Power BI reports
• Familiarity with Power Apps and Power Automate for end-to-end solutions
• Understanding of data governance principles and implementation
