We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Power BI Data Analyst with 45 years of experience in data visualization, dashboard development, and business analysis using Power BI. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform raw data into actionable insights and deliver high-impact reports that support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI to support business intelligence and data analytics needs.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into meaningful visualizations.
- Create and optimize data models (star/snowflake schema) using Power BI Desktop and Power Query.
- Write efficient DAX queries and measures to enable advanced calculations and KPIs.
- Perform data analysis and exploration to uncover trends, patterns, and insights.
- Clean, transform, and integrate data from various sources such as Excel, SQL databases, APIs, SharePoint, and cloud services.
- Assist in data storytelling, driving insights through visual analytics.
- Maintain report documentation and versioning; ensure accuracy and data integrity across reports.
- Conduct data validation and quality checks to ensure correctness and consistency.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business teams in an Agile environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 45 years of hands-on experience in Power BI development and data analysis.
- Strong expertise in DAX, Power Query (M language), and data modeling best practices.
- Solid understanding of data visualization principles and user experience design.
- Proficiency in querying databases using SQL.
- Experience working with relational databases, Excel, and cloud-based data sources.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently analyze data to answer complex business questions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder interaction and data presentation.
Preferred Skills (Good to Have):
- Experience with Power BI Service (publishing, scheduling refreshes, sharing reports).
- Knowledge of Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps).
- Exposure to Azure Data Services (Data Lake, Synapse, SQL Database).
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Microsoft certification (e.g., PL-300: Power BI Data Analyst Associate).
