Job Summary
The Senior POS / Xstore Deployment Engineer is responsible for the deployment, maintenance, automation, and operational support of Oracle Xstore Point-of-Sale (POS) systems (versions 21 and 25) across QA (Lab) and Production environments. The role supports a global retail footprint consisting of Windows-based POS workstations and Linux-based backend infrastructure hosted in AWS.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy and support Oracle Xstore POS (v21 / v25) builds in QA and Production environments.
- Perform data setup and configuration of new and existing POS registers.
- Support Windows-based retail endpoints and Linux servers hosted on AWS.
- Design and implement automation strategies to reduce manual deployment steps.
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot POS systems and store-facing applications.
- Collaborate with business, architecture, and technical teams to deliver solutions.
- Deploy store-facing updates including builds, configurations, and supporting software.
- Create and maintain documentation and Knowledge Base (KB) articles.
- Mentor and guide junior team members.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience with Oracle Xstore POS (v17, v21, v25).
- 10+ years of IT experience.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience with AWS (EC2, ALB, VPC, networking).
- Intermediate networking knowledge (DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, SSH).
- Experience with DevOps tools including GitLab, Terraform, Vault, and Puppet.
- Working experience with puppet is preferred.
- Scripting experience with Bash and PowerShell.
- Experience with Oracle and MS SQL databases.
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow, Jira, and Confluence.
