Role Overview
We are looking for a
Senior Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate a scalable internal developer platform. This role focuses on creating reusable infrastructure, automation frameworks, and self-service capabilities that improve developer productivity and platform reliability.
You will work closely with architecture, engineering, and operations teams to deliver secure, automated, and highly available infrastructure across hybrid and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
Platform & Infrastructure Engineering
- Design and maintain platform infrastructure across compute, storage, networking, and cloud environments
- Build reusable infrastructure patterns and abstractions for application teams
- Manage platform upgrades, patches, performance tuning, and lifecycle operations
Cloud & Container Platforms
- Evaluate and implement solutions across AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, and OpenShift
- Build standardized configurations and deployment models for cloud-native workloads
- Support hybrid and multi-cloud platform strategies
Infrastructure as Code & Automation
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, and scripting
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated provisioning and configuration management
- Automate operational tasks such as VM lifecycle management, auditing, and remediation
Observability, Performance & Reliability
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting best practices
- Define and track QoS and SLA metrics
- Apply SRE principles to improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency
Security & Governance
- Implement IAM, RBAC, encryption, backup, and disaster recovery strategies
- Enforce secure configurations for networking, storage, and workloads
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security standards
Capacity & Resource Management
- Perform capacity planning for compute, memory, storage, and network resources
- Analyze utilization trends and recommend optimization or scaling strategies
- Manage namespace quotas and resource allocations (CPU, memory, storage)
Collaboration & Enablement
- Work with engineering teams to integrate approved platform configurations into their pipelines
- Advocate for platform improvements based on developer feedback
- Support cross-functional teams with troubleshooting and performance tuning
Must-Have Skills
- Strong experience with Linux (preferably RHEL/Red Hat ecosystem)
- Hands-on expertise in Kubernetes and OpenShift
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code Terraform and/or Ansible
- Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong Python or scripting skills
- Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Dynatrace or similar)
- Knowledge of RBAC, IAM, and platform security best practices
- Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional technical teams
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with OpenShift Virtualization
- Red Hat or Kubernetes-related certifications
- Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) and software-defined storage (SDS)
- Experience with GitOps tools (e.g., OpenShift GitOps, ArgoCD, Tekton)
- VMware or hybrid infrastructure exposure
- Storage capacity planning and performance tuning experience
- Exposure to SRE practices and reliability engineering models
Experience & Education
- 10+ years overall IT experience
- 8+ years in development, platform engineering, or infrastructure engineering roles
- Strong coding proficiency in at least one language (Python preferred)
- Bachelor's Degree required (Master's preferred)
