Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement robust platform solutions with a strong emphasis on API management and integration patterns
- Manage and optimize API platforms (e.g., Apigee, Kong, or AWS API Gateway) for scalability, security, and observability
- Define and enforce API governance, authentication/authorization models, traffic management, and analytics
- Collaborate with development and SRE teams to ensure smooth CI/CD workflows and deployment pipelines
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Support containerized workloads using Kubernetes and/or other orchestration platforms
- Implement platform observability including monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
- Drive cloud infrastructure best practices (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for platform services
- Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and governance policies
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to platform engineering roadmaps
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years in software, infrastructure, or platform engineering roles
- 3+ years of hands-on experience managing and scaling API platforms such as Apigee
- Strong understanding of API design principles (REST, SOAP, GraphQL), rate limiting, caching, and API security (OAuth2, JWT, mTLS)
- Expertise in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Solid experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation)
- CI/CD automation experience (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, ArgoCD)
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, or Go)
- Experience with observability and telemetry systems (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog)
- Familiarity with secrets management tools (e.g., HashiCorp Vault) and policy enforcement (e.g., OPA)
Must Have
- Experience with Apigee hybrid or multi-region deployments
- Experience with DevSecOps practices in API lifecycle and access control
- Multi-cloud or hybrid infrastructure experience
