Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Piping Design Engineer with 36 years of experience in piping design, preferably within the maritime industry. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of maritime standards, piping design codes, and classification society requirements, along with demonstrated experience in leading a team. A background in maritime engineering is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop piping systems for marine vessels and offshore platforms.
- Prepare piping layouts, isometric drawings, and material take-offs.
- Ensure adherence to maritime standards and classification society regulations (DNV, ABS, LR, IRS).
- Collaborate with structural and mechanical teams to ensure system integration.
- Prepare technical documentation and support design calculations.
- Conduct 3D modelling and review using industry-standard tools.
- Participate in design reviews, approval processes, and client interactions, as required.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
- 36 years of hands-on experience in piping design within the maritime or offshore industry.
- Strong understanding of maritime standards and classification society requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of piping standards, materials, and marine equipment.
- Proficient in engineering drawing interpretation and specification development.
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
- Mandatory software proficiency: AutoCAD Plant 3D, Navisworks Manage, AutoCAD 2D. Familiarity with shipyard processes, newbuilds, or retrofit projects.
