Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our global technology team. The ideal candidate will have 18+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle Database Administration with deep expertise in RAC, Oracle Exadata, cloud database platforms, performance tuning and handling of VLDB (Very Large Database).

As a Senior DBA, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing enterprise-level Oracle database environments. This role requires a proactive leader with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, capable of working in high-availability and mission-critical environments across on-premises and cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage high-availability Oracle environments using Oracle RAC and Data Guard.
  • Administer and maintain Oracle Exadata systems, including patching, monitoring, resource management, and performance tuning.
  • Lead Oracle database migrations to cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, Azure), including backup and disaster recovery strategy planning.
  • Perform advanced SQL and database performance tuning, query optimization, and system diagnostics.
  • Plan and execute patching and upgrade activities, including major version upgrades.
  • Ensure database security, integrity, and compliance with corporate standards and policies.
  • Automate routine DBA tasks using shell scripting, PL/SQL, or tools like Ansible.
  • Monitor database health and proactively resolve issues before business impact.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams for database provisioning, sizing, and capacity planning.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide support for critical production systems.
  • Lead DBA teams and contribute to internal knowledge sharing and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Expertise

  • 18+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA in enterprise environments.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with:
  • - Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters)
  • - Oracle Exadata (X5-X10 preferred)
  • - Oracle ASM, RMAN, Data Guard
  • - Cloud platforms (preferably Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AWS RDS, or Azure SQL)
  • - Performance tuning (AWR, ASH, SQL Plan Baselines, SQL Profiles,)
  • - PL/SQL development and automation scripting
  • Proficiency with UNIX/Linux environments and shell scripting.
  • Good knowledge of OEM and its use.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) DBA Track
  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Certified Architect / DBA
  • ITIL/CSM certification is a plus.

Professional Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage large database initiatives independently.
  • Experience working in 24x7 production support environments.
  • Proven track record of working in global delivery models.
