Business Segment Overview

Responsibilities
Position Purpose: To provide support to the local Securities Operations team lead/manager with day-to-day supervision of processing of operational tasks and duties by the team analysts
in the US timezone relating to the all of the business units under the EMEA securities banner: including: Custody segment of the Prime business, Equity and Fixed Income Execution and Financing segment of the Prime business (Repo/Stock Loan/TRS). Roles include the oversight and supervision of smooth and efficient processing of trades, with a focus on fixed income and equity trade product types but DVP, Repo and Stock Loan Trade types. The successful candidate will be involved in supervising portions of the trade lifecycle that the analyst team members handle including post trade from pre-matching to resolving settlement fails. The candidate will need to be able provide cover holiday/sickness cover for the junior members of the team as well. This role requires regular interaction with clients, SFL SME Team, and other internal and external teams. There will be the additional opportunity to provide oversight of trade reconciliations, cash management, and collateral oversight as well as contributing to various operational projects and handling ad hoc tasks as needed by supporting the local manager. The successful candidate will report into the local Securities Operations Manager.
Primary Duties Will Include
- Oversight of the US timezone team by assisting analysts in a supervisory capacity by ensuring accurate and orderly settlement of all trades for the DVP, Repo and Stock Loan Trade types within the Securities EMEA business, dealing with ad hoc client queries including report generation, invoice/fee management and general portfolio queries, monitoring cash positions and facilitating cash payments, completion the daily checklists and controls within the team.
- Monitoring and following up on trade fail where assistance is needed, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to resolve any issues promptly.
- Running daily trade reconciliations, helping to resolve breaks where applicable by escalation from the team analysts
- Assist in managing daily cash flows to ensure adequate funding for trade settlements and avoid any overdrafts
- Supporting the local manager in all project initiatives and implementing process improvements/efficiencies within the team.

Qualifications
To land this role you will need :
- A minimum of 2-3 years supervisory experience within an Operations team setup. Overall, with => 5 years experience in a securities operation's environment.
- A core understanding of the trade lifecycle and settlement process for within a prime setting is essential. Strong understanding of Custody, Stock Loan, Repo and Cash Management.
- Be able to work in a US time zone shift.
- Strong communication skills (written and oral).
- Effective organization and time management skills
- Ability to manage and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Education / Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
- Any Industry qualifications or certifications is desirable such as Investment Operations Certificate (IOC).
Working environment:
- Office In office 4 days a week as a minimum requirement.
- Travel Requirements Travel to the UK may be required at least once per year.
