Job Description:

Role Overview

The SD-WAN / Network Engineer (L2) will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and resilience of SD-WAN and LAN deployments. The role involves advanced troubleshooting, handling L2/L3 escalations, configuration validation, customer interaction, and continuous performance monitoring using industry tools like VCO, Meraki Dashboard, and Aruba Central.

Key Responsibilities

1. Issue Resolution

• Troubleshoot hard-down scenarios, outages, and performance-impacting incidents.
• Handle L2/L3 escalations across SD-WAN and LAN environments.
• Diagnose complex routing/switching issues and restore network services efficiently.

2. Performance Monitoring

• Monitor network health using:
• VeloCloud Orchestrator (VCO)
• Cisco Meraki Dashboard
• Aruba Central
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, latency issues, and policy-related deviations.

3. Configuration Audits

• Validate deployed network configurations against the approved design.
• Recommend corrective actions and implement configuration fixes.
• Ensure compliance with network standards and security guidelines.

4. Customer Support & Escalation Handling

• Act as the technical point of contact post-deployment for clients.
• Provide Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring or critical issues.
• Prepare resolution plans and ensure timely communication with customer stakeholders.

Technical Skills & Protocol Expertise

Core Networking

• Strong understanding of:
• QoS
• DHCP
• NTP
• SNMP
• SSH
• IPSec VPN

Routing & Switching

• In-depth knowledge of routing protocols:
• OSPF
• EIGRP
• BGP (preferred)
• Expertise in inter-company routing, packet forwarding, and path analysis.

SD-WAN & Tools

• Hands-on experience with:
• VeloCloud Orchestrator (VCO)
• SD-WAN overlays, underlay connectivity, tunnels
• Understanding of network management & control protocols.

Experience Requirements

• 57 years of strong L2 experience with excellent troubleshooting abilities.
• Proven expertise in SD-WAN platforms, LAN environments, and network security protocols.
• Ability to resolve complex customer issues independently.
• Good exposure to network audits, RCA creation, and operational documentation.

Candidate Expectations

• Must be able to clearly articulate technical concepts.
• Resume must reflect hands-on experience in SD-WAN, routing, switching, and protocol troubleshooting.
• Must demonstrate situational troubleshooting during interviews.
• Should be flexible for rotational shifts and WFO environment.
