Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Network Engineer with strong expertise in managing, configuring, and maintaining Cisco and Fortinet firewall technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of the network infrastructure while supporting operational needs in a dynamic enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Configure, manage, and maintain Cisco ASA/Firepower and Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, ensuring optimal security posture and compliance.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, including firewall policies, IPSec/SSL VPNs, routing, and connectivity.
Develop, review, and implement network security policies, standards, and best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams on network design, upgrades, and security initiatives.
Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for critical network incidents.
Maintain clear and accurate documentation for network configurations, procedures, and incident resolutions.
Support continuous improvement initiatives for network performance, security, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
5+ years of hands-on experience as a Network Engineer with strong proficiency in Cisco and Fortinet technologies.
Deep understanding of:
Firewall rule management
IPSec and SSL VPNs
NAT/PAT
Routing fundamentals
Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex network and security issues.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on clear documentation.
Relevant certifications highly desirable:
Cisco CCNA/CCNP (Security preferred)
Fortinet NSE 4 / NSE 5
Preferred Skills
Experience with network automation tools or scripting languages such as Python or Ansible.
Prior experience supporting large-scale enterprise networks.
Knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR, SOX).
Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management best practices.
