NoC Engineer L2 Support Microwave & DWDM
Job Description: -
The ideal candidate will have in depth knowledge to Huawei, Ericsson, Ciena SDH/DWDM, Optical transmission, PDH & M/W technologies. Required experience in Telecommunications with at least 5 years in a Transmission (for 2G/3G/LTE/5G) NOC position. Knowledge on the digital cross-connects principles, data communication and transmission and transport Network Topology & Concepts.
- Provide level 2 technical support to the Fixed and Mobile Global Network Operations Centre, and local field force.
- Preparing the Daily Alarm & Network, Availability Status report for TX / Backhaul Microwave Link.
- Keep all the SDH/PDH NEs Hardware and Software Configurations Updated.
- Maintaining and update all Network related data base and NW changes.
- Hands on experience any two of the below mentioned Vendor Equipment's: Ericsson, Huawei, Ciena M/W & DWDM equipment's and there NMS.
- Monitor the DWDM network infrastructure using network monitoring tools and platforms.
- Detect, diagnose, and respond to network alarms, alerts, and incidents in a timely manner.
- Ensure that network performance metrics meet defined service level agreements (SLAs).
- Conduct root cause analysis to determine the underlying cause of network problems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including L1/L3 engineers, to resolve complex network issues.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including software upgrades and hardware replacements.
- Coordinate and execute maintenance activities during scheduled maintenance windows to minimize service disruption.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, changes, and incident resolutions.
- Create and update troubleshooting guides and procedures for common network issues.
- Provide clear and concise incident reports to higher-level technical teams and management.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders about network incidents, maintenance activities, and resolutions.
Skills: -
PDH, SDH, DWDM, 2G, 3G, LTE, 5G Networking Transmission NOC Data Communication NCE ECI NMS optical transmission.
Good knowledge of (SDH-SONET / DWDM / GPON / PDH / IP) Fixed Fibre and Mobile Microwave network.
Ability to work in a team or unsupervised with minimal direction.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Network Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are a plus.
Proven experience in operating and troubleshooting DWDM networks and equipment.
Strong knowledge of DWDM technologies, protocols, and optical network components.
Proficiency in network monitoring tools and platforms.
Familiarity with network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, SNMP) and network security concepts.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work within a team and across departments.
Willingness to work in shifts, including nights and weekends, to ensure 24/7 network operations.
