Senior Network Engineer

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and security of complex enterprise network infrastructures. This role provides technical leadership, mentors junior engineers, and ensures high availability, scalability, and performance of network systems across on-premises and cloud environments.

• Lead the design and architecture of enterprise LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, WLAN, and data center networks.

• Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and expansions.

• Configure and manage advanced routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).

• Implement and maintain network security solutions (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, NAC).

• Design high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.

• Optimize network performance and conduct capacity planning.

• Lead root cause analysis for major network incidents and outages.

• Develop and maintain detailed network documentation and diagrams.

• Mentor junior network engineers and provide technical guidance.

• Work closely with cloud, security, and systems teams to support hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Evaluate and recommend new networking technologies and best practices.

• Ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements.

• Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with third-party providers.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• 5–10+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering.

• Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, MPLS, QoS, VLANs, and network segmentation.

• Strong experience with enterprise routing and switching platforms.

• Expertise in firewall technologies and network security architecture.

• Experience with SD-WAN and cloud networking.

• Strong troubleshooting skills in high-availability environments.

• Experience with network monitoring and performance tools.

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

• Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)

• CompTIA Network+

• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

• Cloud certifications (AWS Advanced Networking, Azure Network Engineer Associate)

• Enterprise network design and architecture

• Data center networking

• Network automation (Python, Ansible, Terraform preferred)

• SD-WAN technologies

• Firewall configuration (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, etc.)

• Load balancers and VPN concentrators

• Network monitoring and logging systems

• Leadership and mentoring

• Strategic thinking

• Excellent communication skills

• Project management capability

• Strong documentation practices

• Ability to work under pressure during critical incidents

• May require 24/7 on-call rotation.

• Occasional travel to branch or data center locations.

• High responsibility during network outages and critical incidents.
