The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for architecting, implementing, and managing its enterprise network infrastructure. This role will lead network-centric initiatives, as well as focus on performance optimization, security, compliance, and operational excellence. The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for the design, deployment, and administration of network systems, as well as enforcing policies and standards while ensuring the availability, integrity, and protection of critical data and communications.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing complex Zscaler, PaloAlto, and Aruba environments in a global, regulated organization, preferably within the financial services industry.
Responsibilities are, but not limited to:
- Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls, ZTNA/SASE platforms, and load balancers.
- Manage and optimize Cisco, HP, and Aruba network devices to support LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center connectivity including Edge connect SDWAN fabric, Aruba Central and Wireless controllers.
- Manage ClearPass Policy Manager for NAC and TACACS
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot WAF (Web Application Firewalls) to protect against web-based vulnerabilities.
- Deploy and support load balancers (F5, Citrix Netscaler, or equivalent) for application availability and redundancy.
- Administer and support Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) for secure web and application access.
- Manage and configure Palo Alto firewalls with Panorama and Firepower Cisco Firewalls
- Configure, troubleshoot and manage IPAM Infoblox for DNS/DHCP
- Troubleshoot complex network issues with tools like Wireshark, tcpdump, and NetFlow analyzers.
- Manage and configure Palo Alto firewalls and Firepower Cisco Firewalls
- Perform end-to-end network monitoring, analysis, and fine-tuning to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Manage incident, problem, change, patch, capacity, and performance management for network operations
- Collaborate with network engineering and DevOps teams to enable NetDevOps practices.
- Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with organizational security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Design and implement network recovery and failover strategies to align with business continuity and disaster recovery.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cybersecurity risks, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of infrastructure operations.
- Desirable but not mandatory understanding and configuration of networks in Azure and AWS
The ideal candidate must:
- Bachelor's degree in technology or related field (required).
- Networking certifications (CCNP/CCIE, Aruba, or Zscaler preferred)
- Proven experience leading or participating in large-scale network and security projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong background in firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and network security best practices.
- Extensive expertise in Aruba, Cisco and other enterprise-grade networking platforms
- Excellent Communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to fine-tune and optimize network performance
- Hands-on expertise in:
1.Networking & Security: Cisco ASA/Firepower, Aruba switching, Aruba Wireless, Edgeconnect/Silverpeak, Zscaler, ClearPass, MFA, CASB, Defender, XDR, DLP
2.Network Infrastructure Services: AD, DNS, DHCP, ADFS
3.Disaster Recovery/High Availability (DR/HA)
