The Design & Engineering Unit at CUBE is a multidisciplinary technical group that provides integrated planning, design, and engineering support across a wide range of infrastructure, building, and urban development projects. The unit brings together expertise across structural engineering, MEP systems, cost estimation, and technical advisory, enabling a holistic and coordinated approach to project delivery. The unit plays a critical role in translating conceptual and architectural intent into technica ly robust, efficient, and implementable designs. It works closely with internal teams, government agencies, and project stakeholders to ensure that a l engineering systems are aligned with functional requirements, regulatory standards, sustainability goals, and lifecycle performance considerations. Key capabilities of the unit include: Structural Engineering: Design, analysis, and optimization of structural systems for buildings and infrastructure, ensuring safety, durability, and cost efficiency. MEPF Systems Engineering: Integrated design and coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, with a focus on performance, energy efficiency, and maintainability. Estimation & Cost Engineering: Preparation of detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and financial assessments to support project planning, budgeting, and procurement. Technical Due Diligence & Advisory: Review and validation of designs, specifications, and engineering proposals to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and best practices. Interdisciplinary Coordination: Ensuring seamless integration between structural, architectural, and MEP systems to minimize conflicts and optimize overa l design outcomes. The unit is also increasingly engaged in advancing sustainable and resilient design practices, including energy-efficient systems, water-sensitive design, and climate responsive infrastructure solutions, particularly in urban contexts.
Responsibilities:
MEPF System Design & Execution
Design, review, and oversee the installation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing & firefighting (MEPF) systems for residential, commercial, and institutional projects, ensuring performance, efficiency, and reliability.
Site Assessment & System Evaluation
Conduct site surveys, technical assessments, and performance evaluations of existing MEP systems, and recommend appropriate upgrades, retrofits, or optimizations.
Interdisciplinary Coordination
Collaborate closely with architects, structural engineers, and other project stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems within the overall design framework.
Technical Documentation & Reporting
Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, reports, and documentation to support design development, approvals, and project execution.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure all MEP designs and installations comply with applicable codes, standards, and statutory regulations, while maintaining high quality and safety benchmarks.
Project Management & Delivery
Plan, monitor, and manage project timelines, budgets, and resources related to MEP works, ensuring timely and cost-effective project delivery.
