Senior Member Technical Staff

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy cloud platform services supporting OCI's core infrastructure.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to define, design, and deliver cross-functional, scalable solutions.
• Write high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code in Java or other object-oriented languages.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
• Operate and monitor production services, handle on-call/incident response, and ensure system reliability and availability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal customer impact.
• Contribute to component design reviews and collaborate on architectural improvements.
• Deliver customer-focused outcomes through proactive service enhancements and automation.
• Drive process improvements, best practices, and continuous learning within the team.
• Work effectively in a collaborative, agile, and globally distributed environment.

Must-Have Skills:

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Strong coding skills in Java or a similar object-oriented language.
• Proven track record of delivering features and services across the full SDLC.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale distributed systems and cloud service concepts.
• Experience operating production services; familiarity with incident management and on-call operations.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Demonstrated sense of ownership, accountability, and drive for technical excellence.
• Foundational experience in design and code reviews (not necessarily an architect).

Good-to-Have Skills:

• Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevOps tools (CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Git).
• Experience with monitoring, observability, and automation frameworks.
• Understanding of agile development methodologies.
• Interest in performance optimization and system scalability.

Qualification:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
