Role Summary:
The Senior Manufacturing & Supply Chain Cost Optimization Engineer will lead and execute cost reduction and margin improvement initiatives across global manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering operations. This role is focused on hands-on execution, working cross-functionally to identify, deliver, and sustain measurable cost savings while building a scalable internal capability.
Job involve immediate travel to Japan and other manufacturing unit of our client.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and execute cost optimization opportunities across:
- Manufacturing processes and labor productivity
- Supply chain sourcing and supplier cost structures
- Engineering-driven design-for-cost and complexity reduction
- Make/buy and subcontracting strategies
- Lead cross-functional initiatives with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Finance teams
- Apply Lean manufacturing, DFM/DFA, and industrial engineering principles to reduce cost and cycle time
- Program-manage multiple cost optimization initiatives, tracking:
- Savings targets
- Execution milestones
- Risks and mitigation actions
- Realized vs. forecast savings
- Ensure savings are validated, realized, and sustained
- Prepare clear, data-backed updates for leadership reviews
- Build repeatable processes and playbooks to embed cost optimization into daily operations
Required Qualifications
6-12 years of experience in:
- Manufacturing engineering
- Supply chain optimization
- Cost reduction / operations excellence roles
- Demonstrated track record of delivering measurable cost savings
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in cross-functional, matrixed organizations
- Ability to work in fast-paced, execution-driven environments
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or engineered products
- Exposure to design-for-cost or design simplification initiatives
- Lean / Six Sigma certification
- Experience working with global team
