Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Software Engineering Team Manager to lead our team of developers, testers and analysts in the design, development, and maintenance of our business process and scientific applications in Bristol Myers Squibb Research IT. This role will be responsible for ensuring the application is aligned with the business objectives of the organization and that it meets the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of developers in the design, development, and maintenance of the business process application and scientific application.
- Work closely with onshore teams and business analyst to understand their requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Ensure the application is developed using the latest technologies and frameworks.
- Collaborate with the QA team to ensure the application meets the highest quality standards.
- Ensure the application is scalable, maintainable, and robust.
- Continuously improve the development process, including coding standards, code reviews, and continuous integration and deployment.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
- Manage the development schedule and ensure timely delivery of new features and enhancements.
- Work with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and ensure the application is aligned with the business objectives of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in software testing, with at least 3 years of experience as a QA manager.
- Designing and building cloud applications using AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and API Gateway
- Strong understanding of business processes and experience in testing business process applications.
- Excellent knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Experience with both manual and automated testing.
- Strong experience with testing web-based applications and databases.
- Knowledge of test automation frameworks.
- Experience with DevOps, continuous integration, and deployment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Java, Python, or .NET
- Understanding of SQL and experience writing basic SQL queries
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git or Subversion
- Experience in creating, implementing, and executing automated test scripts for web-based applications.
- Knowledge of Agile methodology and experience working in an Agile development environment
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot defects in software applications.
