What you'll do
We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Engineering Manager to launch and lead a brand-new, mission-critical engineering pod in Bangalore. This team is the tip of the spear for our global strategic partnership with SAP. You will build this team from the ground upstarting with 8 founding engineersto architect and deliver deep, scalable integrations between DocuSign IAM and the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). This is a unique opportunity to own the full engineering lifecycle of a high-visibility product line that enables the world's largest enterprises to automate complex agreement workflows directly within the SAP ecosystem. You will report to the Director of Engineering and serve as the primary technical and people leader for this high-stakes integration frontier.
This position is a people manager role reporting to Director, Software Engineer.
Responsibility
- Recruit, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of 8+ engineers
- Establish the engineering culture, define the technical stack, and implement the SDLC best practices for a brand-new product area
- Lead the development of cloud-native solutions on SAP BTP
- Oversee the orchestration of workflows, bi-directional data synchronization, and automated document generation that bridge DocuSign and SAP products (S/4HANA, SuccessFactors, etc.)
- Ensure the integration layer is built for massive scale, extreme reliability, and rigorous security compliance
- Be accountable for the architectural integrity and operational health of these services
- Act as a technical thought leader in the Docusign-SAP partnership
- Influence the product roadmap, translate business requirements into technical milestones, and manage dependencies across global teams
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of complex features, from initial design through to production support, ensuring a seamless experience for enterprise customers
Job Designation
Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring
Basic
- 4+ years of people management experience in a top-tier SaaS or product company, with a proven track record of building teams from scratch
- 8+ years of hands on software development or equivalent experience
- Deep understanding of enterprise integration patterns, API design, and cloud-native architecture
- Experience managing mission-critical systems where uptime and data integrity are non-negotiable
- BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field
Preferred
- Ability to navigate complex partnerships and communicate technical trade-offs to senior leadership and external stakeholders
- Experience working in an agile development environment
- Curiosity and ability to learn new technologies and tool sets
- Prior experience building an integrations platform/infrastructure to seamlessly integrate 3rd party applications
- Experience with SAP BTP or the SAP ecosystem
