D. Role Summary

Role Purpose

To establish and maintain the privacy governance framework and ensure the organization's compliance with the DPDP Act and applicable sectoral regulations, acting as the regulatory interpretation and policy authority.

Key Responsibilities

A. Regulatory Interpretation & Advisory

  • Interpret DPDP Act requirements and advise business teams on applicability
  • Identify exemptions, legitimate use scenarios, and compliance obligations
  • Monitor regulatory updates, guidance, and enforcement trends

B. Governance Framework

  • Draft and maintain privacy governance structure, committees, and escalation paths:
    • Privacy Policy
    • Data Retention & Deletion Policy
    • Consent & Notice Framework
    • Breach Management and Incident Notification Policy
    • Privacy notices and consent notices

C. Regulatory & Audit Interface

  • Act as point of contact for regulators, auditors, and inspections
  • Support regulatory queries, audits, and legal notices
  • Review and approve privacy-related documentation and disclosures

D. Training & Awareness

  • Design and deliver privacy training and awareness programs
  • Support organization-wide DPDP readiness initiatives

E.Skills Required

Technical

.Experience in privacy law, compliance, regulatory, or risk roles

.Strong understanding of DPDP Act, IT Act, and BFSI regulations
