Senior Manager, Residence Life (Warden)

This is a call for applications for the role of Senior Manager, Residence Life (Warden) at Nayanta University, an upcoming multidisciplinary university in Pune.

They will be responsible for and supervise the residential experience of students of all genders and will need to bring sensitivity to the role. Job Responsibilities

This role will requireworking closely with the Dean of Studentsand in collaboration with other colleagues.

Key responsibility areaswill include, but not be limited to, the following:

1.Student Support & Pastoral Care:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for students regarding any concerns related to the residence.
• Be accessible to all students and sensitive to their needs
• Act as a supervisor and advisor to students, providing guidance where required
• Facilitate conflict resolution in case any arises in the residences, ensuring a harmonious living environment

2.Residence Management:

• Oversee the daily operations of the residence halls, ensuring that facilities are well-maintained and conducive to student living and resolve any issues related to housing, including maintenance requests, room assignments, and accommodations.
• Liaise with other departments such as Operations, Admissions, Safety, and Security to ensure seamless coordination and support for residence-related matters
• Collaborate with campus safety and security teams to monitor student movement and ensure adherence to campus policies

3. Student Data Management:

• Maintain and update the student database related to residence information, including room assignments, incident reports, and other relevant records
• Ensure data accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with university policies
• Be aware of student movement in and out of the residence halls.

4. Policy Development and Implementation:

• Work with the Dean and the Office of Student Life to develop and uphold policies and procedures related to residence life.
• Ensure compliance with UGC Anti-Ragging regulations and promote a safe environment on campus.
• Prepare and maintain incident reports in case of policy violations and escalate these as per the regulations of the University, state, local, and national laws.

5.Emergency Response and Medical Support:

• Handle any emergencies that may arise in the residences
• Depending on the nature of the emergency, coordinate with the physical and mental health services available for students
• Where required, accompany students for hospital admission and stay connected with all necessary stakeholders in such a situation
• Work with the Office of Student Life to develop and implement protocols for various types of emergencies, ensuring the safety and security of all students

6. Liaise with Parents & Guardians:

• Serve as the main point of contact for parents/guardians regarding matters in the residence
• Communicate effectively with them about any issues or concerns related to their child's well-being

7.Community Building:

• Organise and oversee community-building activities with the students to develop a sense of belonging and engagement
• Promote a positive and inclusive campus culture through various initiatives and programmes
• Look for and work with trainers and facilitators to develop the skills and sensitivities of the whole Residence Life team
• Be aware of and engage with various university activities

• They should have good interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
• Empathetic and a good listener, with the ability to maintain discipline where needed
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Should be comfortable using MS Office tools
• Strong collaborative skills
