Role: Senior Manager - Placement & Underwriting (Commercials Lines)

Key Responsibilities:Placement & Underwriting (Property, Fire & Miscellaneous Insurance)
- Managed end-to-end placement of Property, Fire, and Miscellaneous insurance risks, including new business, renewals, and endorsements.
- Analyzed risk submissions, underwriting data, and coverage requirements; structured insurance programs using layering, co-insurance, and reinsurance.
- Built and maintained strong relationships with domestic and international insurers, reinsurers, and underwriting agencies.
- Negotiated terms, premiums, deductibles, capacities, and coverage extensions to achieve optimal client outcomes.
- Collaborated with sales, servicing, and claims teams to support client acquisition, retention, and complex risk placements.
- Provided technical expertise on coverage, policy wordings, and insurance program structures; participated in client discussions and negotiations.
- Tracked market trends, insurer appetite, pricing movements, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to support placement strategy.
- Ensured compliance with IRDAI regulations and internal policies, managed policy issuance, documentation, MIS reporting, and audit requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate / Postgraduate in any discipline.
- Experience handling large, complex, and high-value corporate risks.
- 8-12+ years of relevant experience in insurance placements, underwriting, or broking.
- Prior experience with an insurance broker or insurer handling corporate property and misc risks is mandatory.
- Exposure to multi-location and large corporate accounts will be an advantage.
