Job Description

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Life Actuary to deliver expert actuarial advisory services to our client

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver actuarial valuations, reserving, and embedded value calculations for life insurance ensuring compliance with IFRS 17, local regulatory standard
  • Develop and price innovative life, savings, protection, annuity, including risk assessment, assumption setting, and profitability analysis.
  • Perform experience studies, mortality/morbidity investigations, and assumption reviews to support robust modeling and forecasting.
  • Advise on reinsurance structures, risk transfer strategies, capital optimization, and solvency assessments (including economic capital and ORSA frameworks).
  • Conduct financial modeling, projections, sensitivity analyses, and scenario testing using tools such as Prophet, AXIS, or equivalent software.
  • Prepare high-quality actuarial reports, presentations, and technical documentation for clients, regulators, and senior stakeholders.
  • Mentor and guide junior actuaries and analysts, fostering technical excellence and professional development.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to understand their business needs and translate actuarial findings into actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Stay abreast of emerging regulatory changes, market trends, and actuarial advancements in the GCC and global life insurance landscape.

Requirement:

  • Fully qualified actuary (FIA, FSA, or equivalent from a recognized actuarial body such as IFoA, SOA, or equivalent).
  • 1012 years of post-qualification experience in life insurance/takaful actuarial roles, with proven expertise in valuation, pricing, reserving, and product development.
  • Strong technical proficiency in Prophet and advanced Excel/VBA; familiarity with Python/R is advantageous.
  • Deep understanding of IFRS 17 standard and its implementation, Solvency II principles (or equivalents), and GCC-specific regulatory environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-actuarial audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality client outcomes.
  • Demonstrated track record in business development, including client acquisition, proposal writing, and expanding service offerings.
