Senior Manager, Legal, South Asia , supports the regional growth of Radisson Hotel Group in South Asia and protect its legal interests by
- Overseeing and facilitating the development and administration of management, franchise, operating and other contracts and agreements and
- Managing and resolving legal issues arising operationally, as appropriate and consistent with company policies.
Key roles and responsibilities:
- Draft, review, negotiate and advise other teams (when necessary) on hotel management contracts, franchise contracts, employment contracts, sales and marketing contracts and various contracts with business partners and service providers
- Assist the team during negotiations and in review of hotel agreements.
- Ensure that contracts adhere to company's policies and standards and report material deviations for approval by reporting Manager.
- Obtain and evaluate legal advice and counsel from local attorneys who are expert in hotel development and management contract issues
- Assist in implementing policies, procedures and business practices and ensure understanding and compliance by relevant departments
- Assist in handling corporate secretary and regulatory matters of subsidiaries and affiliates registered in India
- Drafting and review of various of default notices, reply to legal notices, vendor agreements etc.
- Assist in ensuring legal and insurance compliance for the portfolio.
- Coordinate contract database process to ensure accurate and timely tracking of key contract terms, conditions, changes, timelines, and owner information
- Assist in coordinating response and settlement of legal disputes (e.g. debt recovery, breach of contract) including, when appropriate, the selection and supervision of external counsel.
- Coordinate legal action with external counsel under the supervision and guidance of supervisor including for handling various litigations and IP related matters.
- Applying legal leverage to assist in the collection of accounts receivables
- Other miscellaneous work as assigned by supervisor.
- Must, at all times, work in a safe and harassment free manner with respect to all other Radisson colleagues
Competencies & skills requirements
- Bachelor of law from reputable Indian university
- Law firm candidate will be preferred
- Admitted to practice in India
- 5-6 years of experience in corporate and commercial law.
- Hotel industry related legal experience an advantage.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Strong legal drafting skills.
- Corporate secretarial knowledge and experience is an added advantage
