Job Description
An IT Infrastructure Manager's responsibilities are diverse and comprehensive, encompassing various aspects of IT infrastructure management. Here are the main responsibilities:
Network Management: Overseeing the setup, maintenance, and optimization of network systems, including LANs, WANs, intranets, and extranets. Ensuring network security and reliability are paramount.
Server Management: Managing physical and virtual servers to ensure high availability and performance. They are responsible for server installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring.
Data Centre Management: Supervising the operation of data centres, ensuring they are secure, efficient, and capable of meeting the organization's data processing needs.
Cloud Services Management: Integrating and managing cloud services to enhance scalability, flexibility, and cost-efficiency. This includes overseeing cloud storage solutions, virtual networks, and cloud-based applications.
System Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Implementing and maintaining monitoring tools to detect and resolve system performance issues promptly. Ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance by troubleshooting problems as they arise.
Security Management: Developing and enforcing IT security policies to protect against cyber threats and data breaches. This includes managing firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Disaster Recovery Planning: Creating and maintaining disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in the event of a system failure or data breach.
