As a
Senior Manager Guidewire Configuration Developer, you will be responsible for owning and driving large-scale Guidewire (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter) configuration projects across global P&C clients. This role demands deep functional knowledge, full-stack configuration capabilities, and leadership acumen to build, scale, and govern high-performing Guidewire delivery pods.
You will act as the
technical configuration lead across multiple client engagements, directly supervising configuration teams and ensuring consistent delivery aligned to enterprise architecture standards. You will mentor senior developers, drive sprint-level quality and velocity, and maintain a strategic roadmap for configuration excellence across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Delivery Execution
- Lead and oversee Guidewire configuration across PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter modules (v9.x to Cloud).
- Architect and implement configuration solutions using GOSU, Guidewire Studio, and Integration APIs.
- Enforce coding best practices, DevSecOps integration, and CI/CD consistency across environments.
- Guide design reviews, JAD sessions, and agile rituals with clear ownership of sprint deliverables.
Team Management & Governance
- Manage and mentor Guidewire configuration teams (810 FTEs), including Developers and Senior Developers.
- Own performance evaluation, capability-building plans, and skills heatmaps across configuration staff.
- Work with QA Leads, Integration Managers, and Architects to ensure end-to-end delivery excellence.
Multi-Tiered Delivery Oversight
- Directly manage and provide delivery oversight to:
- 4 Configuration Managers
- 8 Technical Leads
- 65+ Consultants (Guidewire Developers and Senior Developers)
- Own delivery governance, configuration sprint management, and stakeholder alignment across 45 simultaneous client accounts.
- Ensure solution design alignment, architecture guardrails, and best-in-class coding practices are implemented across pods.
Client Engagement & Stakeholder Communication
- Act as the configuration SME in client-facing solutioning, pre-sales workshops, and technical discovery.
- Translate business requirements into system configuration logic with clear traceability and documentation.
- Communicate risk, delivery milestones, and sprint burn-downs to internal and external stakeholders.
Practice Development & Strategic Contribution
- Define BlitzenX's Guidewire configuration standards, reusable accelerators, and delivery templates.
- Contribute to hiring top Guidewire talent across global locations as part of Vision 2030 growth.
- Align with Practice Head and Portfolio Heads to deploy configuration pods across 35 simultaneous engagements
Must-Have Skills
- 12+ years of hands-on Guidewire Configuration experience (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, or ClaimCenter).
- Deep proficiency in GOSU scripting, Guidewire Studio, entity modeling, typelists, and page configurations.
- Proven track record leading configuration delivery teams (preferably Agile/SAFe settings).
- Ability to perform code reviews, mentor junior staff, and troubleshoot escalated configuration defects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Guidewire Certified (ClaimCenter, BillingCenter, or PolicyCenter v10 or Cloud Certified)
- Strong understanding of Insurance Domain (P&C), including underwriting, claims, and billing workflows.
- Familiarity with Guidewire Cloud architecture, edge APIs, and digital experience integrations.
- Exposure to Agile tools (JIRA, Rally), CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab), and DevOps.

- Expected to handle 23 pods concurrently depending on project size and complexity.
- Your mandate includes driving Guidewire delivery excellence across these pods while maintaining delivery health, team stability, and scalable growth in line with BlitzenX's Vision 2030 roadmap.
