Job Overview

The Head of Global Procurement Service Center reports directly to the Chief Procurement Officer and is responsible for matrix managing the local Bangalore resources that report to procurement leaders that are not local to Bangalore. This team consists of individuals that are in global strategic sourcing, local country sourcing, procurement business partnership, supplier management, Fortrea travel program management roles or in roles to provide support for the Fortrea Supplier Management system. This role provides thought leadership as well as employee engagement and employee development support to local Global Procurement Services (GPS) team members and to ensure effective supplier management, cost optimization, risk mitigation, and alignment with business objectives while maintaining compliance with regulatory and ethical standards. The position serves as a senior strategic partner to business leaders and oversees global procurement operations, policies, and capabilities.

Summary Of Responsibilities

  • Partner with other members of the Global Procurement Services (GPS) leadership team to help lead and execute the global procurement strategy across international regions to support organizational objectives and growth.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for supplier selection, contract negotiation, supplier performance management, and supplier development initiatives.
  • Partner with senior business leaders and functional stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with operational, financial, and strategic priorities.
  • Oversee local Bangalore resources participation in the end‑to‑end procurement processes, including category strategy development, sourcing execution, contract management, and supplier risk management.
  • Drive cost optimization, value creation, and efficiency improvements across global spend categories.
  • Establish and maintain global procurement governance, policies, controls, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Monitor global market trends, supplier landscapes, and geopolitical risks to inform sourcing strategies and decision‑making.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor international procurement and sourcing teams, fostering a high‑performance, collaborative culture.
  • Develop and track procurement metrics, KPIs, and reporting to measure performance, savings, and value realization.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex supplier, contract, or stakeholder issues.

Qualifications (Minimum Required)

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Significant experience in global or international sourcing, procurement, or supply chain leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiations, and global procurement operations.
  • Strong business acumen with experience driving cost savings, value creation, and operational efficiency.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence senior stakeholders across geographies and functions.
  • Experience managing and developing global teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements.

Experience (Minimum Required)

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or related commercial roles, with significant experience in international or global procurement environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading global or multi‑regional sourcing strategies, including supplier selection, contract negotiations, and supplier performance management.
  • Proven track record of delivering cost optimization, value creation, and risk mitigation across multiple spend categories and geographies.
  • Experience managing and developing global, matrixed procurement teams and influencing stakeholders across regions and functions.
  • Extensive experience partnering with senior leadership to align sourcing and procurement strategies with business and financial objectives.
  • Strong background in supplier governance, compliance, and risk management, including operating within regulated or highly complex environments.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

  • Office-Based (Hybrid), at the discretion of the line manager.
  • Overtime may be required.
  • Occasional drives to site locations with occasional travel both domestic and international.
  • Regular and consistent attendance.
