MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
- Finance controller for Commercial BU responsible for working day-to-day with business partners to deliver sustainable and profitable sales that is compliant with Abbott Financial and Compliance policies and procedures.
- A go-to Finance adviser and trusted business partner to the Commercial Director, Marketing and Sales personnel and all support functions who ensures budgets are spent wisely, and sufficient controls are in place to execute commitments
- Complete responsibility of BU P&L requiring proactive management of risks and opportunities, identifying and driving cost reduction and margin improvement initiatives with ultimate aim of ensuring financial goals of BU are achieved.
Main Responsibilities
- Business partnering with Commercial team to ensure all selling and marketing activities comply with the financial plan and are in line with Abbott Policies
- Drive Margin and Profit Improvements, Cash Flow Improvements, Cost Leadership projects and operational efficiencies through cross-functional collaboration. Lead certain Cost Leadership projects to successful execution.
- Prepare rolling latest best estimate of BU P&L and ensure all variances vs plan and previous RLBE are clearly explained and justified
- Ensure all reporting requirements, month end book closing requirements and ad hoc business requirements of BU are submitted as per timelines
- Ensure any new activity proposed by BU are in line with the compliance policies and within the approved financial plan
- Support BU to identify, mitigate and capitalize on new external risks and opportunities
- Participate in EPD India/Global driven projects to deliver results as per expectations and within strict timelines.
- Responsible for month end closing activities & financial provisions, ensures all provisions are accounted accurately
Qualification: Chartered Accountant / MBA Finance
Experience: Approx. 5 to 8 years
