Job Description

Seeking for a seasoned corporate communications leader who can navigate both government stakeholders and the public eye.

This role will be responsible for building and executing the comprehensive communication architecture for a new national project where you will establish the brand identity, navigate public sector heritage, manage diverse community and commercial stakeholders and design a robust crisis communication framework from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and lead the Public Relations and Corporate Communications roadmap for the pre-launch, launch and operational phases of the project
  • Navigate complex, multi-agency to government relationships to ensure unified messaging across all public-facing narratives.
  • Set up the entity's standard operating procedures for media engagement, press office, functions and tracking protocols.
  • Build and maintain strong networks with mainstream editors, journalists, relevant correspondents, lifestyle media and digital content creators.
  • Design and implement the entity's 1st Crisis Communication Plan for various high-stakes scenarios
  • Oversee the digital Public Relations roadmap, working closely with marketing teams to synchronize social media messaging, website copy and community outreach.
  • Establish channels to listen to and address public feedback, ensuring the community feels a genuine sense of belonging to the venue.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Marketing, Mass Communications, Public Relations &/ Journalism related fields with min 10 yrs of professional experience in Corporate Communications, Public Relations with Media Relations background of which min 5 years are in a leadership/senior managerial capacity.
  • Proven experience managing high-stakes crisis communications with major public infrastructure, national events or public sector issues is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience in a start-up or greenfield business division where you successfully built comms processes from scratch is an advantage
  • Excellent written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills to manage diverse stakeholders - from top-ranking government personnel and ministry officials to commercial operators and the general public.
