Job Description

As a leader in the global travel-tech space, redBus is looking for a Compensation & Benefits Specialist who acts as a strategic architect rather than a process administrator. Coming from a COE (Center of Excellence) background, you will be responsible for designing and scaling rewards frameworks that sustain our competitive edge across India, SE Asia, and Latin America. We are looking for a data-driven professional who can bridge the gap between financial constraints and talent aspirations.

About the Role

As a Compensation & Benefits Specialist, you will be responsible for leading the compensation strategy, managing annual cycles, optimizing benefits, ensuring compliance, and driving process excellence.

Responsibilities

Compensation Strategy & Benchmarking

  • Lead annual compensation benchmarking using market data (Mercer/Aon/Willis Towers Watson, etc.).
  • Design competitive salary structures aligned to business growth and talent strategy.
  • Drive salary band architecture, job leveling, and pay positioning frameworks.
  • Partner with business leaders and HRBPs on compensation decisions for critical roles.

Annual Cycles & Performance-Linked Pay

  • Own and manage the annual merit cycle, bonus payouts, and promotion increments.
  • Design and review incentive structures (Sales, Tech, Leadership roles).
  • Ensure pay-for-performance philosophy is consistently implemented.

Benefits & Total Rewards Optimization

  • Evaluate and redesign benefits programs (insurance, wellness, flex benefits, retention bonuses).
  • Drive cost optimization while improving employee value proposition.
  • Partner with finance and vendors for benefits governance and renewals.

Governance, Compliance & Analytics

  • Ensure compensation compliance with internal policies and statutory requirements.
  • Build dashboards and analytics for compensation trends, attrition risk, pay equity.
  • Support audits and compensation-related reporting to leadership.

COE & Process Excellence

  • Standardize compensation policies and SOPs across functions.
  • Build scalable frameworks to support high-growth hiring.
  • Collaborate with TA and HRBP teams for offer strategy and internal equity management.

Qualifications : 6-8 years of experience. MBA (HR) from a Premier B-School is a must. A strong grasp of compensation and benefits and financial modeling is a must. Prior experience in Product-Tech, FMCG or E-commerce, or FinTech is highly desirable.

  • Experience managing compensation across multiple countries and regulatory environments.
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP) related to equity compensation.
  • Expertise in job evaluation methodologies (Mercer, Korn Ferry Hay, Willis Towers Watson).
  • Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills (Excel, HRIS, equity management systems).
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Global Remuneration Professional (GRP) preferred.
