Job Description: Senior Manager Learning Futures Lab

Centre for Learning and Teaching Excellence (CLTE)

Location: Hyderabad / Mohali

Reports To: Director, CLTE

Role Purpose

The Senior Manager Learning Futures Lab will lead ISB's efforts to explore and apply emerging technologiesparticularly Artificial Intelligenceto transform the future of learning. The role is central to advancing CLTE's mission of creating personalized, adaptive, and impactful learning experiences that enhance both teaching effectiveness and learner outcomes.

The incumbent will drive innovation through research, experimentation, and collaboration, positioning ISB at the forefront of pedagogical excellence in an AI-enabled world.

Key Responsibilities

1. AI and Learning Innovation

  • Design, pilot, and implement AI-driven tools and learning solutions to enhance student engagement, faculty productivity, and learning effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with faculty and academic units to embed AI use cases in curriculum design, delivery, and assessment.
  • Lead the conceptualization and development of prototypes, simulations, and intelligent assistants that support teaching and learning.
  • Manage end-to-end execution of innovation projects, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and academic quality standards.

2. Research and Thought Leadership

  • Conduct applied research on AI in pedagogy, learning design, and assessment to inform institutional strategy.
  • Document and disseminate insights through white papers, presentations, and publications contributing to ISB's leadership in education innovation.
  • Track global trends in educational technology, AI ethics, and learning sciences to anticipate opportunities for adoption.

3. Product and Platform Development

  • Partner with the Learning Technologies Unit and internal stakeholders to design, develop, and maintain AI-based curriculum tools and platforms.
  • Evaluate new technologies and vendors, recommending scalable solutions aligned with CLTE's strategic priorities.
  • Ensure usability, integration, and sustainability of technology solutions across academic programmes.

4. Collaboration and Change Enablement

  • Foster cross-functional collaboration with faculty, IT, programme management, and academic leadership teams.
  • Advocate for evidence-based and technology-enhanced pedagogical practices across the institution.
  • Support capacity-building initiatives that help faculty and staff leverage AI for teaching, learning, and assessment.

5. Measurement and Continuous Improvement

  • Establish and monitor metrics and evaluation frameworks to assess the impact of learning innovations.
  • Translate findings into actionable insights to inform curriculum design, policy, and institutional decision-making.
  • Contribute to CLTE's Assurance of Learning (AoL) and learning analytics agenda through data-driven reporting.

Candidate Profile

Education:

  • Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Education Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Advanced qualifications in Learning Sciences, Data Analytics, or Business Management will be an advantage.

Experience:

  • 710 years of experience in digital learning innovation, product management, or EdTech strategy.
  • Demonstrated experience in AI/ML applications, learning analytics, or technology-enabled education.
  • Strong background in managing cross-functional teams and technology projects from conception to implementation.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, Java, or equivalent programming languages; familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS).
  • Working knowledge of AI tools, data analytics frameworks, and emerging learning technologies.
  • Exposure to Agile project management methodologies (Scrum/Jira preferred).
