Job Title Sr. Manager SAF Development
We are looking for
A techno-commercial engineer capable of translating process design into viable SAF project
execution while balancing engineering rigor, commercial viability, and sustainability
compliance.
Role Overview
The role will be responsible for leading the development, evaluation, and execution of
Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) projects, including technology assessment, engineering
coordination (Basic Engineering & FEED), techno-commercial evaluation, and strategic industry
engagement. The candidate will play a critical role in positioning the organization within the
global SAF ecosystem.
Key requirements
SAF Project Development - Lead pre-feasibility and feasibility assessment for SAF
project through ETJ route
Engineering Coordination
i) Coordinate Basic Engineering Design (BED), FEED studies, and detailed
engineering reviews.
ii) Interface with EPC contractors, licensors, and technology providers.
iii) Support plant configuration decisions including utilities, hydrogen integration,
and feedstock management
Evaluation & Global Benchmarking
i) Track international developments in SAF mandates, incentives, and offtake
models
ii) Engage with technology licensors, oil marketing companies, airlines, and global
stakeholders.
iii) Support MoUs, NDAs, and strategic collaboration discussions
iv) Understand ASTM certification requirements for SAF. Track ICAO, CORSIA, EU
ReFuelEU Aviation mandates, US IRA incentives, etc. Support compliance
documentation and certification processes. Liaise with regulatory authorities
where required.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering / mechanical engineering OR Master's
degree in Energy / Refining / Process Engineering
7 15 yrs of work experience in Biofuels/ Petrochemicals/ Refining/ Renewable Fuels
Hands-on exposure to FEED, Basic Engineering, or EPC coordination. Process
evaluation or plant design. Familiarity with refinery integration or renewable fuel
retrofits.
Competencies Required
Strong understanding of: Process flow diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams
(P&ID), Mass balances, Hydrogen integration, Utilities configuration, SAF certification pathways
