Role Overview
The Business Operations Program Manager / Project Manager is a critical member of the Growth Office Center of Excellence, supporting the Optum Growth Office and the Office of the CEO. This role serves as the operational backbone of the Monthly Business Review (MBR) process—driving accountability, reducing risk, and ensuring senior leaders receive high-quality, decision-ready insights.
You will partner closely with executive leadership, manage complex cross-functional programs, and lead a global team of program managers to deliver consistent, scalable, and executive-level operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the end-to-end Optum Rx Monthly Business Review (MBR) cycle, spanning Optum Rx, Optum Growth, and Optum / UHG corporate forums
- Define and govern MBR milestones, timelines, dependencies, and ownership to ensure disciplined execution and on-time delivery
- Establish and manage MBR governance, including calendars, templates, standards, attendee lists, and version control
- Consolidate business inputs into cohesive, executive-ready pre-reads highlighting objectives, decisions, risks, and progress against action items
- Prepare and maintain CEO MBR briefing materials, partnering closely with executive assistants for seamless delivery
- Synthesize meeting outcomes into clear executive summaries, decisions, and action items; facilitate reviews prior to distribution
- Respond to ad-hoc executive and leadership requests by translating performance, pipeline, and client data into actionable insights
- Lead and develop a global team of program managers, providing clear direction, prioritization, coaching, and performance management
- Establish standard operating models, capacity planning, and quality benchmarks across the Growth COE
- Partner with senior leaders to align COE priorities with enterprise needs and delivery commitments
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in program or project management within complex, global, matrixed organizations
- 5+ years of people leadership experience, managing and developing high-performing teams
- Experience supporting U.S.-based executive leaders and collaborating across time zones
- Strong proficiency in SalesforceGo (SFGO) and Microsoft productivity tools
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with executive audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting executive office operations, including pre-reads, briefing books, and leadership talking points
- Strength in analytics, data storytelling, and executive-level insights
