Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Manager, Accounts to lead our finance and accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader capable of managing end-to-end accounting functions, ensuring strict statutory compliance, and providing strategic financial insights to support TESSOL's growth phase. You will oversee the accounts team and work closely with senior leadership to streamline financial processes for our manufacturing and logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting & Operations
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including General Ledger, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Fixed Assets.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of books in accordance with Indian Accounting practices.
- Manage banking relationships, working capital limits, and fund flow planning to ensure liquidity for operations.
- Supervise payroll processing and ensure accurate accounting of employee benefits.
2. Statutory Compliance & Taxation
- Ensure 100% compliance with all statutory requirements including GST, TDS, TCS, PF, ESIC, and Income Tax.
- Manage filing of returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, etc.) and handle tax assessments or scrutiny matters.
- Liaise with external consultants and tax authorities for timely resolution of notices or queries.
- Ensure compliance with the Companies Act and other secretarial matters.
3. Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and present Monthly Management Information Systems (MIS) reports to the leadership team, highlighting key financial metrics and variance analysis (Budget vs. Actuals).
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Provide product costing analysis and inventory valuation support to the manufacturing team.
4. Audit & Internal Controls
- Lead the coordination for Statutory Audits, Internal Audits, and Tax Audits, ensuring timely completion.
- Design and implement robust internal financial controls and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor inventory audits and physical stock verification processes.
5. Team Leadership
- Mentor and manage the accounts team, ensuring high performance and professional development.
- Foster a culture of accuracy, integrity, and efficiency within the department.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
You will be evaluated based on the following metrics, which align with our manufacturing and high-growth startup environment:
1. Financial Accuracy & Efficiency
- Closing Cycle Time: Complete monthly books closure by the 7th working day of the subsequent month.
- Budget Variance: Maintain actual vs. budgeted expense variance within +/- 5%.
- Payroll Accuracy: Achieve 100% accuracy in payroll processing and disbursement timelines.
2. Compliance & Risk Management
- Statutory Compliance Rate:100% on-time filing of GST, TDS, PF, ESIC, and Income Tax returns with zero penalties.
- Audit Completion: Ensure successful completion of Statutory and Tax audits within agreed timelines without major non-compliance observations.
3. Cost Control & Reporting
- COGS Accuracy: Ensure precise calculation of Cost of Goods Sold for manufacturing units to support correct product pricing.
- MIS Delivery: Deliver accurate Monthly MIS reports to the Board/Investors by the 10th of every month.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education & Certification:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) is highly preferred.
- Inter-CA / ICWA or MBA (Finance) with significant relevant experience will be considered.
Experience:
- 812 years of proven experience in Finance & Accounts.
- Prior experience in the Manufacturing or Logistics/Supply Chain industry is mandatory.
- Experience in a startup or high-growth environment is a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
- Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Tally Prime and advanced MS Excel. Experience with ERP implementation is an added advantage.
- Compliance Knowledge: Strong grasp of Direct & Indirect Taxation (GST, Income Tax) and Indian Accounting Standards.
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong communication skills to interact with stakeholders and investors.
