Job Description

Job Summary:

The Senior Manager in Controllership is responsible for delivering a best-in-class accounting and controlling function that drives informed, fact-based decision-making and proactively identifies opportunities to translate them into impactful financial outcomes. This role leads and develops a high-performing team of accounting professionals, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately accounted for and classified in compliance with company policies and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).

The Senior Manager will be responsible for the timely and precise completion of monthly accounting processes for Lowe s Pro Supply, the preparation of monthly financial reporting packages, including Income Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow Statements, and Executive Reporting Analyses. He/she will be responsible for accounting function of the entire LPS finance. Will leads the projects for improvements and identification of gaps and implementation of controls. Represent finance in the global projects under finance modernization, new system implementation (FUSION), consolidation of systems etc. They will also provide in-depth research and commentary on significant variances to forecast and plan.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities:

The Senior Manager in Lowe s Pro Supply plays a key role in preparation of financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely month-end closes, and maintaining financial reporting compliance with US GAAP. Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the accounting function : Manage the accounting function with accurate and timely accounting to record the business transaction, recognition of revenue, creation of provisions, Internal controls implementation.
  • Month-End Close & Financial Reporting : Ensure timely month-end close, review Balance Sheet and P&L, post accruals, recognize revenue correctly, and ensure capitalization and maintenance of fixed assets and leases.
  • Variance Analysis & Reconciliation : Conduct variance analysis, approve balance sheet reconciliations, and support financial reporting accuracy.
  • Responsibilities of Audit : Point of contact for all types of audits, Internal, SOC, and External audit on behalf of the team. Must stand in to explain all the transactions and accounting transactions.
  • Policy & Process Management : Set and enforce accounting policies and procedures in compliance with US GAAP, drive process efficiencies, and ensure productivity improvements.
  • Financial Analysis & Reporting : Oversee complex financial analysis (e.g., forecasting, contract reviews) and provide actionable insights for management.
  • Finance Projects: participate in all the finance modernization project represent LPS and ensure that the systems are ready for future LPS organization.
  • Team Leadership & Development : Manage a team of individual contributors, provide direction, feedback, and training to ensure high standards of performance and growth.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Compliance : Collaborate with business partners to align on new transactions, perform ongoing process reviews, and ensure compliance with SOX controls.

In essence, the role combines technical accounting expertise, leadership, strategic process improvement, and collaboration across functions to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency.

Years of Experience:

Required:

  • 12 -15 years - a minimum of overall combined experience in accounting (industry or public)
  • 6 years - accounting experience in large ERP environment (Oracle and/or PeopleSoft preferred)
  • 5 years - experience managing teams of individual contributors.

Preferred:

  • Experience with process improvements/system enhancements/automation related to accounting functions.
  • Experience performing and/or reviewing account reconciliations.
  • Experience in managing stakeholders and implementation or leading any finance projects for the organization.

Education Qualification & Certifications (optional)

Required Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor s degree in accounting, Information Systems or other related field
  • CA/CPA (preferred)
