Technical Requirements
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Core Mainframe: 6+ years of hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, and VSAM.
- Frameworks: Advanced knowledge of CSF (Callable Services Framework) for system-level programming and security protocols.
- Database: Proficiency in DB2 (including stored procedures) and IMS DB/DC.
- Transaction Management: Solid experience with CICS (Customer Information Control System) for online processing.
- Utilities & Tools: Mastery of TSO/ISPF, File-Aid, Changeman/Endevor, and SPUFI.
- Security: Understanding of mainframe security concepts (RACF) and how they interface with application logic.
Soft Skills
- Analytical Thinking: Exceptional ability to deconstruct complex legacy logic and refactor for efficiency.
- Attention to Detail: Precision in managing mission-critical data where accuracy is non-negotiable.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within Agile/Scrum frameworks and bridge the gap between legacy systems and modern front-end teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Rexx or Assembler programming.
- Knowledge of Mainframe-to-Cloud integration patterns (z/OS Connect, REST APIs).
- Familiarity with DevOps for Mainframe (IDz, Zowe, or Jenkins integration).
