We are hiring an experienced Senior ML Engineer / Applied ML Lead who can:
- Build ML systems from scratch
- Own the ML architecture end-to-end
- Handle NLP, embeddings, and ranking models
- Work with geospatial data
- Deploy production-grade ML
- Guide and mentor junior ML engineers
This is a founding-level role with full ownership of ML at Zillwork.
Technical:
- 48 years experience in Machine Learning
- Strong Python (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn)
- Deep learning frameworks: PyTorch or TensorFlow
- NLP: transformer-based models (HuggingFace, BERT family, XLM-R, Sentence Transformers)
- Embeddings + semantic similarity
- Vector search: FAISS / Pinecone / Qdrant
- Ranking algorithms (learning-to-rank, similarity scoring)
- Experience with geospatial data (distance filtering, clustering, geo-features)
- Hands-on experience deploying ML in production
- Experience building real systems (not academic-only)
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with multilingual NLP
- Experience with ASR/voice pipelines
- Experience with recommendation systems
- Experience with model optimization for latency
- Basic DevOps knowledge (Docker, GPU workloads)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's in CS/AI/DS or equivalent experience
- Proven track record of delivering ML systems to production
- Ability to work independently
- Strong problem-solving + system design mindset
- Comfortable in early-stage startup environment
