Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Manager – Logistics to oversee and manage end-to-end logistics operations, including both domestic transportation and import logistics. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient, cost-effective, and timely movement of materials critical to solar manufacturing and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Domestic Logistics Management
- Plan and manage transportation of raw materials and finished goods across India
- Optimize routes, freight costs, and delivery timelines
- Coordinate with transporters, warehouses, and internal stakeholders
- Ensure timely dispatches to project sites and customers
2. Import & International Logistics
- Handle end-to-end import operations including documentation, customs clearance, and freight forwarding
- Coordinate with international suppliers, CHA (Custom House Agents), and shipping lines
- Ensure compliance with import regulations, duties, and applicable laws
- Track shipments and ensure timely delivery from port to plant/warehouse
3. Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Develop and manage relationships with logistics service providers
- Negotiate freight rates and contracts for cost efficiency
- Work closely with procurement, production, and project teams
4. Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all logistics activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate documentation for imports, exports, and domestic shipments
- Handle audits related to logistics and supply chain
5. Cost Optimization & Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to reduce logistics costs and improve efficiency
- Implement best practices in supply chain and logistics management
- Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives
6. Team Management
- Lead and mentor the logistics team
- Ensure proper workload distribution and performance tracking
Key Requirements
- 8–11 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or import/export operations
- Strong experience in both domestic logistics and import logistics (mandatory)
- Experience in manufacturing, EPC, or solar/renewable industry preferred
- Good knowledge of customs regulations, shipping processes, and documentation
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field
- Certification in logistics/supply chain management (preferred)
