As we continue to scale, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Legal Head to lead our legal and compliance functions, safeguard business interests, and ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Legal Advisory & Risk Management
- Provide strategic legal guidance on business operations, contracts, and new initiatives.
- Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including vendor contracts, distribution agreements, NDAs, employment contracts, and marketing collaborations.
- Compliance & Statutory Requirements
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including Companies Act, Contract Act, Intellectual Property Laws, Consumer Protection, Data Privacy, and Employment laws.
- Oversee company secretarial compliance in coordination with internal/external stakeholders.
- Develop and implement internal policies and governance frameworks.
- Dispute Resolution & Litigation Management
- Manage pre-litigation and litigation matters with external legal counsels.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings as required.
- Handle notices, claims, and regulatory communications.
- Intellectual Property Protection
- Oversee trademark registrations, renewals, oppositions, and IP strategy.
- Ensure brand protection across domestic and international markets.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with HR, Finance, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure legal compliance in day-to-day operations.
- Provide training and guidance to internal teams on legal and regulatory matters.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a reputed institution; Master's degree (LLM) preferred.
- 56 years of relevant legal experience, ideally with exposure to FMCG / Consumer Goods / E-commerce / Start-up environment.
- Strong knowledge of corporate, commercial, contract, intellectual property, and labor laws.
- Prior experience in managing external legal counsels and regulatory bodies.
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
