Job Description

Your Tasks

  • Partner Global and Regional Marketing, R&D and Regulatory teams to advise on product concepts, innovations/developments, product positioning, risk assessments, with a strong focus on product and advertising claims/marketing and its substantiation for multiple BDF markets. Collaborate and work with local legal counsels to advise on the above in the respective countries.
  • Advise and support marketing campaigns, collaborations, sponsorships, medical marketing and help build robust and standardized compliance systems/processes.
  • Advise, manage and coordinate litigations (Intellectual Property, regulatory, advertising,consumer, employment disputes and commercial matters), including strategy setting, execution, briefing and supervising external counsel and driving outcomes.
  • Advise and lead intellectual property strategy and enforcement for India (trademarks, designs, copyrights, trade dress, domain names), including clearance, protection, enforcement and anticounterfeiting actions for BDF portfolios.
  • Monitor and advise on upcoming and evolving regulations impacting the business, especially data privacy (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act framework) and AI-related developments, and translate them into practical governance, contract and process requirements.
  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts (marketing, media, ecommerce, etc.).
  • Develop processes, playbooks, trainings, programs and frameworks for business and its leaders/functional stakeholders on: (1) legal & compliance, (2) Product claims, standards and Advertising (3) key legal risks and mitigation, (4) regulations.
  • Lead or co-lead strategic legal and compliance advocacy.
  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of compliance frameworks (antitrust, anti-bribery, data protection, competition) for Beiersdorf in India, in collaboration with regional and global compliance teams.
  • Provide strategic legal advisory support to BDF Affiliates on all matters legal and compliance areas and broader FMCG operations, aligned with local laws, Beiersdorf group policies and compliance standards

Your Profile

  • Law degree (LL.B. and/or LL.M.) from a reputed Indian or Global law school or university, with strong academic credentials.
  • Minimum 8-10 years post-qualification experience with experience and interest in:
  • Product and advertising claims substantiation and regulatory interface for consumer and healthcare products.
  • Intellectual property (trademarks, copyrights, etc.) and related contentious and non-contentious work.
  • Litigations and disputes resolution.
  • Demonstrable interest in upcoming regulatory white spaces such as Privacy, AI and data.
  • Excellent analytical skills, structured problem-solving ability and sound commercial judgment, with a clear, business-oriented approach to risk.
  • Demonstrated passion for legal research, advocacy and continued upskilling, and translating learnings into practical insights/guidance for business.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; presentation skills, comfort working in a global matrix organization and collaborating with regional and global legal and compliance teams.
  • Project management skills to drive independent and cross functional projects.
  • Demonstratable knowledge and interest in use of technology to improve productivity at work
