Job summary As a Senior Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase in the Platform Engineering team, you design and deliver deployment and automation platforms that power applications across public clouds. You partner with teams across the firm to simplify releases, strengthen reliability and security, and elevate the developer experience. You work in a collaborative environment where your ideas help set the direction for our platform and our engineering community.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and implement multicloud deployment orchestration using GitOps for AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Build progressive delivery capabilities including canary, bluegreen, and automated rollbacks
  • Architect reusable Terraform modules and automation for environment lifecycle management and provisioning
  • Develop selfservice deployment platforms with guardrails, compliance checks, and intelligent test selection
  • Create observability solutions and realtime dashboards for release and environment health across clouds
  • Lead architecture reviews, vendor and tool evaluations, mentor engineers, and drive adoption of modern practices while fostering an inclusive culture
  • Maintain operational stability of release systems with rapid incident response, postmortem learning, and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Hands on software engineering experience including system design, development, testing, and operational stability
  • Experience with public cloud platforms and three or more years operating Kubernetes in production
  • Proficiency in Python and Bash Shell scripting, with experience designing APIs and building automation and developer tooling
  • Advanced Kubernetes expertise including architecture, networking, storage, security, and custom resources
  • Infrastructure as Code with Terraform for multicloud provisioning; experience with YAML, JSON, and HCL
  • Experience with GitOps and delivery toolchains such as Argo CD or Flux, and CI/CD tooling including Helm or Kustomize
  • Observability experience with monitoring, logging, and tracing using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or cloudnative services, and a securityfirst approach including secrets management and compliance automation

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

  • Experience managing workloads across AWS, Azure, and GCP, including multicloud networking and identity federation
  • Knowledge of advanced deployment strategies using Argo Rollouts or Flagger; familiarity with feature flags, A/B testing, chaos engineering, operator patterns, and eventdriven automation
  • Experience with workflow orchestration such as Argo Workflows or Temporal and behaviordriven development frameworks
  • Relevant certifications (CKA, CKAD, CKS, and cloud or Terraform certifications), experience in regulated industries such as financial services, and contributions to open source and technical speaking or writing
