Role Overview
The Senior / Lead Robotics Research Engineer Perception will focus on designing and developing advanced perception systems for autonomous robotics applications. This role involves working on computer vision, sensor fusion, and multimodal AI systems to enable intelligent robotic behavior in real-world environments. The position requires strong research orientation combined with hands-on deployment experience in robotics systems.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and contribute to research in computer vision, perception systems, and Visual-Language-Action (VLA) models.
Design and optimize perception algorithms including object detection, tracking, segmentation, and SLAM.
Develop and implement multi-sensor fusion techniques combining camera, LiDAR, radar, and IMU data.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate perception with planning, control, and robotics subsystems.
Prototype and validate solutions in simulation environments such as NVIDIA Isaac Sim and real-world robotics systems.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical leadership within the team.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in robotics, AI, and computer vision.
Contribute to research publications, patents, and technical presentations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
36 years of hands-on experience in robotics with strong focus on perception and computer vision.
Strong programming skills in Python and C++.
Experience working in Linux/Ubuntu environments with shell scripting.
Hands-on experience in developing and deploying computer vision algorithms.
Understanding of sensor fusion techniques and multi-modal AI systems.
Experience with robotics frameworks such as ROS and simulation tools like NVIDIA Isaac Sim.
Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
Experience with cloud services and model deployment.
Preferred Skills
Experience working with Visual-Language-Action (VLA) or multimodal AI systems.
Research publications in robotics, AI, or computer vision.
Experience with large-scale data collection and annotation.
Exposure to real-world robotics deployments (industrial or service robotics).
Experience mentoring teams or leading technical initiatives.
