Introduction

The Data Solutions Group integrates manufacturing and engineering data from various source systems used in semiconductor engineering and production. These data warehouse solutions support GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fabs in Dresden, the US, and Singapore. The team provides timely, high-quality solutions to meet the analysis needs of engineers working on leading-edge technologies.

Your Job Responsibilities

Solution Development:

• Understand business requirements and translate them into holistic solutions involving AWS Cloud Services, PySpark, EMR, Python, and Cloud Databases like Redshift/Postgres.
• Develop PL/SQL scripts for managing high-volume data sets.

Data Warehouse Design:

• Prepare design artifacts, including ETL framework design, data modeling, and source-to-target mapping.
• Monitor database queries for tuning and optimization opportunities.

Database Management:

• Analyze and resolve performance issues.
• Design and develop logical and physical schemas for data warehouses.

Collaboration & Support:

• Collaborate with application teams and cross-functional IT teams.
• Provide consulting and maintain standards related to database management.

Problem Solving:

• Use root cause analysis methods to resolve issues.
• Document identified problems and resolutions.

Continuous Improvement:

• Make recommendations for enhancements or improvements.
• Support GlobalFoundries-wide improvement projects.

Other Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements.
• Participate in events beyond typical work hours as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in ETL development, design, and performance tuning.
• Strong knowledge of data warehouse architecture, including dimensional modeling and ERD design.
• Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and experience with AWS services, PySpark, EMR, Python, and Redshift.
• Experience with large, complex database projects involving high-volume data.
• Familiarity with SDLC concepts and processes.
• Strong technical documentation and conceptual skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering or related fields.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker administration.
• Knowledge of semi-structured datasets and streaming applications (e.g., Spark Streaming, Flink, SAP Data Intelligence).
• Expertise in reporting solutions and business intelligence tools.
• Knowledge of statistical data analysis, data mining, and test management processes.
• Semiconductor industry experience is a plus.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a global, matrixed environment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in tools like Power BI, SAP, Oracle, and MES.
