Description
Cloud Engineering sits within the Cloud Platform Engineering and Operations function. The team provide technology solutions to the firm, covering Design, Cloud Engineering/DevOps and AVD. This role will sit in the Cloud Engineering Cloud DevOps Team.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Advance DevOps & SRE Engineering
- Develop and steer our CICD processes for the Cloud environments, take responsibility for the approval of platform and application pipelines.
- Form a key part of the code review process which would include alteration to the platforms and assessment of new Terraform modules.
- Identify automation or process improvements to reduce manual effort and prevent SLA breaches.
- Develop tools and services useful in DevOps environments such as performance monitoring, security monitoring, deployment/configuration
- Participate in Native Cloud Infrastructure and Application Engineering initiatives.
- Cloud Platform Operations & Compliance
- Familiarity with multi-cloud basics (AWS/GCP) in addition to Azure.
- Responsibility for approving security access of the Cloud cloud platform.
- Responsibility for platform compliance and remediation.
- Continued improvement of platform health dashboards.
- Be actively involved in R&D, POCs and new technologies.
- Working with the Group Digital Engineering FinOps Lead to assist with reporting functions.
API Hosting & Platform Integrations
- Host APIs using Azure services (API Management, App Services, Function Apps, or microservices on AKS).
- Troubleshoot API failures related to authentication, routing, performance, or latency.
- Collaboration & Support
- Support your wider Infrastructure community by assisting other teams, sharing knowledge, debugging problems, contributing code to central projects and any other ad hoc requests
- Support juniors during troubleshooting and operational tasks.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders to become a trusted partner
- Shift Responsibilities & Operational Support
- Bases on Project requirement work in rotational shifts to provide operational support.
- Participate in on-call rotations to support high-severity issues.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for repeated or major issues.

The Person
- Proven experience with Microsoft technologies
- Hands on experience with building Microsoft Cloud solutions
- Good understanding of cloud infrastructure across Azure, with exposure to AWS or GCP operational models.
- Proven experience in software development or scripting languages such as PowerShell/JSON/Terraform
- Extensive knowledge of CI/CD pipelining skills using Azure DevOps or equivalent
- Proven experience working in a DevOps environment
- Experience of working in an Enterprise environment.
- Ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision
- Be a technological cloud advocate to a wider audience inside and outside of the business
- Bring fresh ideas to the team and wider firm be it new software or containerisation of existing infrastructure and projects
