About The Opportunity
A fast-growing digital media & technology-enabled news publishing organisation serving Indian audiences with data-driven, timely journalism across web and mobile platforms. We produce long-form investigations, breaking news, and multimedia storytelling that inform and engage millions of readers. This remote role is India-based and ideal for experienced journalists who deliver impact, speed, and editorial rigour in a distributed newsroom.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead reporting on assigned beats: source stories, develop enterprise ideas, and produce accurate, high-impact articles that drive audience engagement.
- Own end-to-end story production: research, interviewing, drafting, editing, and publishing across the CMS with SEO optimisation and metadata.
- Produce multimedia content (video, audio, data visualisations) and coordinate with designers, video editors, and developers to package stories for web and social platforms.
- Drive investigative projects: obtain and analyse documents, verify facts, and maintain meticulous records to support long-form and watchdog journalism.
- Act as an editorial mentor: provide clear copy edits, fact-checking guidance, and constructive feedback to junior reporters and freelancers.
- Monitor analytics and audience metrics to refine story angles, improve engagement, and iterate on content strategy.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- Proven track record as a journalist or reporter with a strong portfolio of published work (enterprise reporting and breaking news).
- Expertise with CMS publishing workflows and on-page SEO best practices.
- Skilled in multimedia storytellingaudio, video, and visual data presentation.
- Strong investigative reporting and rigorous fact-checking skills.
- Ability to interpret analytics to optimise content performance and audience reach.
- Comfortable working remotely with distributed teams and meeting tight deadlines.
Preferred
- Experience with data journalism tools and basic data analysis.
- Prior experience producing video or editing for digital platforms.
- Familiarity with local language reporting and regional beats across India.
