Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Jewellery Designer to lead design development for the Indian jewellery market, with a strong understanding of regional preferences, bridal trends, and commercial retail requirements.
The designer will work in a team-based structure, where each design team supports dedicated customers or regions, ensuring focused design development, faster execution, and consistency across collections.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop commercial and trend-led jewellery designs aligned with Indian consumer preferences, including bridal, festive, and daily-wear segments
- Work closely within a dedicated customer or regional design team, collaborating with merchandisers, sales, CAD, and production teams
- Translate customer briefs, regional requirements, and trend insights into sellable, production-ready designs
- Lead and mentor junior designers, ensuring design quality and consistency
- Review sketches, CAD designs, and prototypes in coordination with CAD and manufacturing teams
- Ensure designs meet cost targets, metal weight norms, stone usage, and manufacturing feasibility
- Stay updated on Indian jewellery trends, regional tastes, festivals, and retail movements
- Support internal and customer design reviews, collection planning, and line presentations
- Maintain proper design documentation and ensure timely execution of deliverables
- Travel within India and abroad for jewellery exhibitions, customer meetings, and retail store visits to gain market insights
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in gold, diamond, or gemstone jewellery design
- Strong understanding of the Indian jewellery market, including regional preferences and bridal categories
- Proven experience working in a team-based, customer-aligned design structure
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, gold weights, stone settings, and cost control
- Proficiency in hand sketching and coordination with CAD teams (Rhino/Matrix preferred)
- Ability to manage multiple customers or regions simultaneously
- Strong communication and leadership skills
