Role Description

• This role will be a member of the engineering team at DWS. This role will be is part of our front office team which works directly with the business and supports the Passive Investments Portfolio business.
• We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to join our team, with a primary focus on designing, developing, and maintaining robust backend services using Spring Boot. The ideal candidate will also have experience or interest in UI development, enabling effective collaboration across the full stack.

Your key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, and other developers to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, mentor junior developers, and promote best practices.
• Optimize application performance, reliability, and security.
• Provide L2/L3 production support for critical financial systems, including incident investigation and resolution.
• Document technical designs, processes, and solutions.

Your skills and experience

• Strong experience in Java development, with deep knowledge of Spring Boot and related technologies.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, Sql Server) and ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate).
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
