We are seeking a Senior IT Technologist with a primary focus on SAP FICO to join our team in Hyderabad. While the original request emphasized SAP ECC, LE, and WM, this role requires expertise in Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SAP configuration, writing design specifications for development and integrations, and experience communicating project status with business and IT stakeholders globally. You'll play a crucial role in optimizing our financial processes within the SAP ecosystem.
A Day in the Life
You will drive SAP FICO excellence and business process optimization by:
- Consulting with business stakeholders to understand and evaluate current financial business processes, translating them into clear system requirements for SAP FICO.
- Writing detailed system functional specifications for SAP FICO developments and integrations, and supporting development teams during the implementation phase with testing and quality documentation.
- Deploying new and enhancing current SAP FICO systems, processes, and procedures in a cost-effective manner.
- Configuring SAP FICO system settings, planning and executing unit, system, and integration tests, and leading cross-functional teams to address business or systems enhancements.
- Staying current with industry trends in financial processes, compliance, and emerging technologies, assessing their potential impact on the company's IT and business processes.
- Collaborating with IT teams to integrate financial data and processes with internal/external systems, ensuring seamless data flow and consistency, particularly through EDI (Interfaces).
- Facilitating small to large groups through challenging discussions to align on financial system requirements and solutions.
- Providing support for project requirements, which may involve some travel and out-of-hours work for global meetings.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- 8+ years of relevant experience as an IT Business Analyst, IT Technical Analyst, or SAP consultant, with a strong focus on SAP FICO modules.
- In-depth knowledge of industry best practices and terminology related to Financial Accounting and Controlling.
- Solid business process knowledge and experience in SAP ECC Financial Accounting (FI) functions (e.g., General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting).
- Solid business process knowledge and experience in SAP ECC Controlling (CO) functions (e.g., Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Product Costing, CO-PA).
- Solid experience in SAP Customization (SPRO) specifically within FI and CO modules.
- Solid knowledge in Inter/Intra-company processes and 3rd Party Purchase via EDI (Interfaces) relevant to financial transactions.
- Understanding of IT change processes and/or SAP solution delivery processes.
- General understanding of overall supply chain processes as they relate to financial impacts.
- Excellent communication in English as well as collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with global cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
- Experience with full cycle SAP FICO implementation projects.
Nice to Haves
- SAP Certifications on FI, CO, or other SAP systems.
- Experience with SAP GTS (Global Trade Services) for financial aspects.
- Experience with SAP S4HANA implementations (especially FICO conversion/implementation).
- Experience with global SAP implementation projects.
- Experience with the Medical Technology sector is preferred.
- Experience in SAP Solution Manager tool/Rev Trac and processes for change documentation and related transport processes.
