As a Senior IT Project Lead for Global Operations & Supply Chain (GOSC) Manufacturing Systems Digitalization at Medtronic, you'll spearhead the implementation of critical IT systems to drive digital transformation across our manufacturing operations. You'll be responsible for end-to-end project management, from planning and risk mitigation to leading diverse cross-functional teams. This role requires extensive experience in large-scale program management, a deep understanding of manufacturing IT platforms (including MES and SAP), and a proven ability to lead and influence, ultimately enhancing Medtronic's ability to deliver life-changing medical technologies.
A Day in the Life
You will drive manufacturing digitalization and project success by:
- Developing a comprehensive project plan, clearly outlining tasks, timelines, resources, and milestones for manufacturing IT systems implementation.
- Defining the project scope, goals, and objectives, ensuring complete alignment with Medtronic's organizational strategy.
- Identifying potential risks proactively and developing robust mitigation plans to ensure successful project execution.
- Leading a diverse cross-functional project team, encompassing IT professionals, process engineers, production unit representatives, and external consultants.
- Establishing a collaborative environment that promotes effective communication and harmonious coordination among all team members.
- Working closely with business stakeholders to gather and meticulously document functional and technical requirements for IT systems implementation solutions.
- Leading the implementation of Manufacturing IT Systems, leveraging extensive experience in large-scale program management, manufacturing IT platforms (e.g., MES), and SAP.
- Providing regular and impactful updates to the leadership team, keeping them informed of project progress, challenges, and key decisions.
- Coaching and mentoring lower-level specialists, and potentially managing multiple projects or processes concurrently.
- Communicating with senior internal and external customers and vendors to exchange information, address issues, and influence decision-making.
- Contributing to the completion of workgroup objectives by building strong relationships and achieving consensus on assignments.
- Making improvements to processes, systems, or products to enhance the performance of the job area, providing in-depth analysis and recommendations.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- Ideally PMP Certified.
- Proven experience in leading projects within validated environments (e.g., regulated industries).
- Experienced in leading multi-functional, cross-team collaboration between IT and Business units.
- Demonstrated experience in managing program timelines, risks, status, and escalations in a timely and effective manner.
- Ability to understand and work efficiently within Medtronic processes and tools.
- Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), as well as strong knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid project management principles and practices.
- Experience with Project management tools like Azure DevOps.
- Strong knowledge of MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and MS Project.
- Experience managing Project Costing, Budget Forecasting, and Resource Management.
- Deep knowledge of manufacturing and manufacturing IT systems such as MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), SAP, and other relevant platforms.
