About the Role

Dow has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Senior IT Analyst – SAP EHS, based in Navi Mumbai, India. This role is part of the Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHS&S) IT team, and is responsible for delivering digital solutions that enhance EHS&S business processes and support Dow's Digital Sustainability Strategy.

The role requires a techno‑functional SAP EHS professional with strong project delivery experience. This position is not an SAP EHS end‑user role, but focuses on solution design, implementation, and system enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform EHS&S business process track activities during projects, including:
  • Requirements gathering
  • Functional design
  • Data migration
  • Testing
  • Deployment and cutover support (Must‑have)
  • Provide functional and technical expertise across SAP EHS processes, including:
  • Product Safety
  • SDS Distribution
  • Dangerous Goods Management
  • Substance Volume Tracking
  • Waste Management
  • Environmental Management
  • Incident Management
  • EHSM
  • Strong understanding of SAP EHS data model, including:
  • Basic Data and Tools
  • Property Tree
  • Phrase Management
  • Value Assignment Types (VAT)
  • Classes and Characteristics
  • Experience with WWI Template creation, modification, and WWI server operations
  • Expertise in implementing ERC updates from 3E
  • Knowledge of OCC (Open Content Connector) and Expert Rules
  • Understanding of SAP InterfacesIDocs, and ALE
  • Collaborate with business partners, IT teams, and stakeholders to design and build SAP EHS solutions
  • Ensure functional and technical designs align with architecture standards and long‑term system vision
  • Participate in implementation strategy, deployment planning, and cutover activities
  • Support initiatives related to Joint Ventures, Mergers, Acquisitions, Divestitures, and Capital Projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, IT, or EHS&S‑related field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong experience in SAP EHS – Environment, Health & Safety Management
  • Hands‑on exposure to project implementation and system enhancement
  • Advanced English communication skills

Desired Skills / Nice to Have

  • Understanding of integration with other SAP modules (e.g., Supply Chain, Manufacturing)
  • Knowledge of UN GHS, CLP, REACH, Dangerous Goods regulations, and compliance standards
  • Familiarity with EHS Product Compliance and regional regulatory requirements
  • Experience with S/4HANA migration projects
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and issue resolution skills
  • Exposure to Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts is a plus

India Engineering Center (IEC) was established in late 2006 in the city
of Chennai, in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. The center currently
houses approximately 450 Dow and non-Dow employees across various
functions and businesses. With 95% of these employees belonging to
Engineering Solutions, IEC is the largest Engineering Solutions site
outside of the US.

services including Design Engineering, Project Engineering and Project
Controls, Construction Management, Process Automation, Process
Engineering and Process Safety. The overall value engineering strategy is

Automation and Process Engineering expertise. Various Engineering Hub
